Dr. Vijayakumar Narayanan

Dr. Vijayakumar Narayanan, has joined as Principal, University College of Engineering in 2026, was formerly principal, Government Engineering College, Thiruvavthapuram. He has nearly 25 years of experience in teaching and research in Engineering. He has 4 years of administrative experience in the level of head of institution in Govt engineering institutions. He obtained his doctoral degree from IIT Kharagpur (2000) in optical Communications. He had his masters degree (1992) and bachelors degree (1988), both from University of kerala. Being approved research guide in both KU and KTU he could successfully produce 10 PhDs. He has more than 70 publications which include more than 12 published in SCI journals. He was chairman, board of studies(PG) in university of kerala.

He was the convener of the Committee constituted by Govt of Kerala and Honourable High Court of kerala to probe into academic and administrative status of private engineering institutions in entire state of Kerala. He started his career joining as assistant professor in CET in 1991 and promoted to the post of professor in 2012. He served as a professor, Head of department, Dean, IIIC coordinator and was promoted to the post of principal in 2018, got retired in 2022.
